As a Documentary Wedding Photographer in Manchester it was a treat to photograph Sam and Francesca’s wedding day. Their special day was a beautiful and fun time that was celebrated with their family and close friends, and this is perfect for unposed wedding photography. The day started quietly with just Francesca getting ready at her home, and the fun started when her Dad arrived announcing that he had ripped his suit trousers! In the wedding photographs below you can see Francesca’s Mum sewing up the trousers at the dining table. Before the needle and thread were found there were discussions of using sticky tape, buying a new suit, and who would have a needle that could be borrowed quickly. Francesca the Bride took this all in her stride and was calm about the whole situation.
The wedding dress
Before Francesca put her wedding dress on, her bridesmaids arrived in their awesome colourful dresses. Some prosecco was opened to truly start the wedding day celebrations for the bridal party. It wasn’t long at all after putting her wedding dress on, being admired by her Mum and bridesmaids, that it was time to jump in the black cab and head over to the church for the wedding ceremony. When we arrived at the church, like most grooms Sam was nervously waiting with the groomsmen and was keen to see his bride Francesca and perhaps not be the centre of attention. The ceremony was lovely, and the children from the school where Francesca teaches were the choir throughout the proceedings.
Didsbury Golf Club
The wedding reception was held at Didsbury golf club, and earlier in the day Francesca and her bridesmaids had done a fantastic job of decorating the venue. Luckily the English weather was kind to all of us which meant that we could enjoy the outdoor space that’s provided by the golf club. The young children definitely enjoyed running around in the grounds and exploring the venue when possible. I managed to catch a race on the first hole between a toddler, young kids, and adults!
Sam and Francesca, thank you for selecting me as your documentary wedding photographer, and I hope you have enjoyed re-living your wedding day through the photographs.
